This atlas contains more than 200 new paleotectonic-paleoenvironmental maps of the periTethyan domain. The area covered stretches from the Atlantic shores of Europe and northern Africa in the west to the Urals and Zagros Mountains in the east, and from the Baltic shield in the north to the equatorial Africa in the south. Ten sets of maps are included:

• Moesian Platform
• Northern Africa
• North-eastern Africa and North-western Arabia
• Arabian Platform

Each set of maps include legend, timetable, short explanatory notes, full references and additional supporting data (structural maps and cross sections, geophysical data, stratigraphic charts).

Information contained in this atlas is derived from a number of academic, industrial and governmental sources. More than two hundred Earth scientists from thirty-six countries participated in this project.
