Copernicus Publications welcomes new initiatives to launch and establish Open Access journals in all fields of Science, Technology and Humanities. We have experiences with Open Access start-ups since 2001 and we aim to provide the assistance from the initial phase to the establishment including all services in web design, advertisement, online review systems, fast production of articles, online publication, distribution and archiving.

Copernicus Publications is specialized in serving scientific associations or individual initiatives with two different business models:

• We remain the Owner: This classical business model includes the advantage for the initiators that Copernicus Publications finances the start-up phase. The initiators then get royalties.
• We serve the Owner: This advanced business model includes the advantage for the initiators that they own the journal, its title and the registrations with regard to ISSN and the web domains. Copernicus Publications provides all services on flat rates and the Owner determines the charges for authors and therefore also the return on sales. The start-up phase has to be financed by the journal Owner.
